About VenaSeal Vein Closure
A small catheter is placed inside the refluxing vein under ultrasound guidance, and the VenaSeal adhesive is delivered along the length of the vein to seal it closed. The procedure is performed in-office, and most patients return to normal activity quickly.
VenaSeal is an FDA PMA-approved closure system that uses a proprietary medical adhesive to close the refluxing vein. It typically does not require tumescent anesthesia or compression stockings afterward in many patients, and is often well tolerated.
